Hi! I'm Marilyn Thomas also known as "The New Wave Diva". I'm a 30-something Diva DJ who loves 80s New Wave music!
I absolutely love DJ'ing in front of live crowds. There's nothing better than the rush of seeing people go crazy on the dance floor over a great song! I specialize in 80s New Wave because it's the music I grew up on and love, but I have been known to spin other genres when the party calls for it.
Other genres I enjoy include: Electro-Pop, Indie Dance, Post-Punk, New Romantic, Britpop, Powerpop, Shoegaze, Eurodance, Italo Disco, Techno, Disco House, Hi-NRG, Industrial, 90s Alternative & Rock, and even some very old-school Hip Hop. Pretty much anything you can shake your ass to!
I'm most proud of my 6+ year residency at Fluid Nightclub at the Sex Dwarf party.
Past Appearances
I've been a DJ for the past 8 years, primarily working at clubs in Philadelphia. I've played all the best clubs/lounges/bars in the Philly area: Fluid Nightclub, Shampoo, Transit, The Khyber, Trocadero Theatre, Emerald City (now Fuzion Grill and Social Club), Metro Lounge (closed), Tribecca Nightclub (closed), Goosebumps Lounge (now Horizons), L'Hexagone (now Raven Lounge), Liquid Charm, Tritone, Tir Na Nog, Valanni, Envy Nightclub (now Club 27), La Tazza (now closed), and Ulana's. I've also appeared at Conduit Nightclub and 449 Room in Trenton, NJ, QXTs in Newark, NJ and The Court Tavern in New Brunswick, NJ. I've even driven down to The Black & The Red in Washington D.C. to do a guest spot!
